 Jay
Cherrix, owner, was born on Chincoteague Island, VA where he
traces his linage back 300 years. Coming from a long line of
shipwrights and watermen, Jay carries on the tradition of raising
a family independently, as did his ancestors before him. The
father of 5, son of a fisherman, and grandson a boat builder.....he
also makes his living on the water as Chincoteague's first and
only professional native sea kayak guide. In nearly 10 seasons
of guiding and teaching, Jay has introduced over 20,000 people
to the tranquility of sea kayaking the water in and around the
islands of Chincoteague and Assateague. Come visit us for some
island hospitality. |

We have single and tandem kayaks, surf kayaks, and
canoes. Some boats are also available for multiple days.
Necessary equipment is included.

 We
offer 2 professionally guided sea kayak tours a day. We
have single and tandem kayaks. Our tandem kayaks are extremely
stable open-cockpit boats with a jumper seat for children
up to 6 years old. Client's ages range from 4 to 85+ years.
The safety and comfort of our customers is our first and
most serious consideration. We practice the philosophy
of bonding with one another and our environment in a manner
in which all of us return enriched by this unique waterborne
experience. Each expedition consists of paddle instruction,
boat piloting, an eco-classroom in the marsh, and a first
